 Match Report from Bayern.de

Το άρθρο από το bundesliga.de:

The match started great for Bayern as it only took Thomas Müller five minutes to make it 1-0 for the hosts. Due to the freezing conditions (-9°) in the Allianz Arena, Fürth’s 5,000 fans who made the short trip to Munich had no other choice but to sing and cheer in order to keep warm. But they soon had a real reason to jump up from their seats, as Christopher Nöthe capitalized on a mistake in Bayern’s defence and equalized (10′).

Fürth left several excellent opportunities unused as the first half progressed, but the 2. Bundesliga outfit were rewarded for their hard work when Sami Allagui nodded in from short range (40′).

Full throttle

If Fürth’s players were dreaming about advancing to the semi finals at half time, 20 minutes later it was all over for them. Arjen Robben converted a penalty (55′), Frank Ribery slotted home after fooling his marker and the goalkeeper (60′), before Philipp Lahm made it three goals in 10 minutes with a nice shot from the edge of the area.

Their perhaps finest goal came just about ten minutes from the end however, when again Müller finished off a great attack that involved nearly half the Bayern team. Finally it was an own goal by Allagui which concluded Bayern’s comfortable victory.
